Seymour Rosenthal Dies

Seymour Rosenthal, former president of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, died recently at age 89.

Rosenthal entered the diamond business at the age of 18. He eventually served two terms as president of the now-defunct Diamond and Precious Stone Trade Association (DITA) in the 1980s. He was elected WFDB president in 1982 and served two terms.

Rosenthal was a major supporter of the American Friends of Rabin Medical Center in Petach Tikwa, Israel, and was active in the United Jewish Appeal Federation of New York, as well as the Forest Hills Jewish Center of New York.

He is survived by his wife, Lilian, and daughter, Ilyse.
