The next JA New York Winter Show will take place March 9 - 11, 2008, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The move from late January was "positively received by both the buyer and exhibitor communities," according to a JA statement. The later dates, they say, will allow retailers to evaluate their inventory more effectively, get a better sense for their needs for the year, and have a more cautious first quarter before making major purchases on the new show dates.

JA officials said foot traffic at the recently concluded JA New York Winter Show, held Jan. 21 – 23, was "consistent throughout the show with indications that sales were up across the board."

“We were very pleased with the overall energy on the show floor,” says Drew Lawsky, group show director for JA New York. “The flow of the show was great and attendees were interested in both buying and experiencing the unique programming and special sections, as found only at JA New York. We are thrilled that the group of participants who attend the show are eager to continue to learn about the industry, make new connections and improve their business.”

The newest feature of the show was the Bridal Showcase, where bridal jewelry designers worked with Kleinfeld Bridal to showcase a variety of bridal looks from traditional to trendy. The designs were displayed in an area sponsored by the Condé Nast Bridal Group, JA show officials said.
