Cartier North America Appoints New President and CEO

Staff -- JCK Online, 9/1/2005 2:00:00 AM

Cartier has appointed Frédéric de Narp, a longtime employee, as president and chief executive officer of Cartier North America. He will replace Stanislas de Quercize, who left to head Van Cleef & Arpels International in Paris.

De Narp has been with Cartier since 1991. He has held various retail positions there and most recently was CEO of Cartier Italy. He holds a masters degree in sciences and techniques of international business, with a focus on Asian commerce, from Le Havre University in France.

De Narp also is one of the co-founders of “NeedYou,” a humanitarian organization that aids abandoned children in Cambodia, Haiti, Rwanda, and Brazil. He took a sabbatical leave from Cartier in 1996 to work exclusively for the organization.

Born in Brittany in France, de Narp is fluent in French, English, Italian, and Japanese.

Cartier has 27 stores in the United States. The company is owned by Richemont, the Swiss luxury goods group.
