International Amber Jewelry Design Competition

The 13th annual amber jewelry design competition in Poland is asking artists to critically examine popular—or POP—culture by using the centuries old material and techniques to create individual works of expression.

Deadline for the international competition is Jan. 31, 2009. Judging will take place Feb. 7, 2009 in Gdañsk, Poland. Winning designs will be announced at Amberif, the International Fair of Amber Jewellery and Gemstones, being held March 11 - 14, 2009 in Gdañsk.

The top award includes a cash prize. All participants will be given free entry to Amberif. In addition, the winning designs and 20 finalists names of the competition participants will be published in the Amebrif exhibitors' catalog.
