24 Karat Club to Award Hudson

The board of directors of The Jewelers 24 Karat Club of Southern California has chosen Laurie Hudson, president of the Platinum Guild International USA Jewelry, as the 2002 recipient of the club's Excellence in Service Award.
The award is given to an individual who has made a significant improvement or had a significant impact on the jewelry industry. Since 1992, with the establishment of the U.S. office of the Platinum Guild International, Hudson has spearheaded the efforts of worldwide platinum producers to market platinum jewelry in the United States.
The award will be presented Oct. 19, at the Club's annual Fall Dinner Dance at the Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows in Beverly Hills, Calif. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Jewelers' Charity Fund.
