DCA to Publish Leaders' Guide

The Nashville, Tenn.-based Diamond Council of America has announced plans to publish a "Leaders' Guide" as a companion to its popular distance education diamond course. The publication provides a detailed "road map" allowing owners and managers to facilitate their students' understanding of the material and successful completion of the course. The guide also includes a "train the trainer" outline explaining effective teaching and implementation techniques.

A grant from the Diamond Promotion Service and the editorial guidance of Diane Warga-Arias made the publication a reality. Written for DCA by Janice Talcott and Kate Peterson of Performance Concepts, the guide gives trainers and managers a detailed review of every chapter of DCA's diamond course and provides direction and support for store meetings and for using the material at the counter. The DCA diamond course consists of 22 chapters on diamond selling and product knowledge, four exams, and a comprehensive final exam.

The DCA is a not-for-profit education organization that has been training retail and industry associates since 1944.
