'Power of Love' Opens in Las Vegas

On Valentine's Day, "Diamonds and the Power of Love," an exhibit showcasing diamonds as "the ultimate in love and romance," opens at the Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas Resort. The exhibit, sponsored by De Beers' Diamond Trading Company, includes new designs from leading houses such as Bulgari, Chaumet, Damiani, Escada, Graff, Mikimoto, and Van Cleef and Arpels as well as some historical rings dating back to the early eighth century. More than 700 carats of diamonds, valued at approximately $10 million, will be on display. No other American sites are planned for the exhibit, which has already been displayed in Japan and will travel in June to Place Vendôme in Paris, France.
