WOSTEP (Watchmakers of Switzerland Training and Education Program), the Swiss group that is an international leader in watchmaker education, has added another training program in English to its curriculum.

The course is called “Introduction to the Basic Operations of the Mechanical Watch.” It’s designed to “refresh the practical knowledge of the basic operations used every day by watchmakers in the after-sales service of Swiss watches,” says Antoine Simonin, WOSTEP’s director. “We’re sure, with the present situation in the United States [i.e., decrease in watchmakers], it will be an opportunity to improve the level of existing watchmakers.”

The two-week class is limited to 10 students, all of whom must be full-time professional watchmakers. It will be held Nov. 8-19 at WOSTEP headquarters in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The cost is 3,600 Swiss francs (about US$2,840).

WOSTEP, started almost 40 years ago, is supported by leading Swiss watch brands, organizations, and related groups.
