Viot leaves Cartier for Richemont position

Carrie Soucy, JCK Senior Editor -- JCK Online, 4/24/2002 10:48:00 AM

Cartier President and CEO Alain Viot will be leaving his post in June to become director of business development at Cartier's parent company, luxury goods group Richemont.

Viot will be replaced by Stanislas de Quercize, currently the president of Cartier France. The change will be effective June 15.

In his new role, Viot will coordinate all Richemont Group brands and develop global strategy and marketing for the company's holdings-including such jewelry and watch brands as Van Cleef & Arpels, Piaget, Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Panerai, IWC, and Baume & Mercier.

Viot has been with Cartier since 1987.
