AGL Collaborates on Educational Event

The American Gemological Laboratories (AGL) recently joined the Smithsonian Institution and gem expert Arthur Groom in presenting an educational exhibit on colored stones. In addition to the Smithsonian's display, the exhibit featured six cases representing a portion of AGL's extensive gem and mineral collection, including its exceptional gold collection, an 800-ct. kunzite, and an unheated 100-ct. aquamarine from Brazil. One case was dedicated to the technology of defining quality in colored stones.
Approximately 500 people attended a gala evening event to view the full range of gems, from the well known to the exotic. As part of the evening's festivities, AGL provided a detailed quality analysis report for the 8.73-ct. ExCel-enhanced Colombian emerald that Groom presented to the Smithsonian's permanent collection.
