Rio Grande announces the Second Annual Saul Bell Design Award, a competition honoring the company's founder, Saul Bell. Bell, who was born into a jewelry-making family, founded Rio Grande in Albuquerque, N.M., in 1944.
Rio Grande will open the competition to talented individuals to create original and unique designs within the parameters of several categories. The competition awards winners nearly $30,000 in prize awards.
