Japan native Osamu Koyama loves hip-hop music and making fine jewelry, so launching his company, Complete Technique, which combines the two passions, was an easy decision.
The Brooklyn-based designer makes miniature speakers, turntables, cartridges, and adapters in precious metals and gems for a select niche: those who love music, especially hip hop. Koyama came to the States in 1998 with a penchant for rap and a talent for making jewelry. After taking some classes at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology, he decided to first offer his unique, music-inspired jewelry to fashion and clothing stores, which were more likely to appreciate the product. Now, he's ready to reach out to fine jewelers.
