For the second straight year, Alpha Omega, Boston, was a major sponsor of the Betting on a Cause and a Cure event, held on Feb. 26. The event, which was established three years ago, this year had a Monte Carlo theme. It raised funds for three charities, including The Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, and The Denis Leary Firefighters Foundation.
Held at the posh Charles Hotel in Cambridge, Mass., the benefit featured gambling tables, a live auction, raffles, prizes, and live entertainment by the J. Giles Band. Celebrity attendees included Cam Neely, Denis Leary, Michael J. Fox, Ken Howard, Diane Farr, Lenny Clark, and others.
Alpha Omega teamed up with Carrera y Carrera to outfit a number of high-profile women in jewelry for the evening. Two Carrera items were part of the live auction, and a $7,500 diamond shopping spree at Alpha Omega was included in the evening's "Mystery Bag" raffle prize.
