Revere Hosts Annual Masters Symposium

By JCK Online Staff -- JCK Online, March 1, 2008

The Revere Academy will hold a series of workshops during the 2008 Masters Symposium, April 5–27. The Academy will host eight master classes taught by leading goldsmiths and other experts.

Japanese master metalsmith Naohiro Yamada will teach specialized Japanese metal techniques, engraving and inlay, and an advanced class that combines both techniques. Felix Stüssi, from Switzerland, will teach clasps and catches as well as action jewelry. Thomas Mann, New Orleans, will teach both creative and business classes. Andy Cooperman, Seattle, will teach imaginative captures and surfaces. Linda Darty, from North Carolina, author of The Art of Enameling, will teach classes in cloisonné and enameling.

Two- and five-day workshops are offered. Classes are at all levels, from absolute beginner to advanced. Each week during the Masters Symposium, the Academy will host a Wednesday evening slide show and reception for visiting masters, which is open to the public.

The Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts is located in downtown San Francisco's historic Phelan Building. Schedules, information, and a free video tour are available upon request. For more information, call (415) 391-4179, visit www.revereacademy.com, or e-mail: info@revereacademy.com.
