It is the group’s first non-bourse member
India’s Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) has become a full member of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, the first nondiamond exchange to do so.
At its annual meeting in Mumbai, the GJEPC approved changes in its code of ethics necessary to complete the process.
“We look forward to welcoming other industry players into the WFDB,” said WFDB president Ernest Blom in a statement. “Such bodies will provide us with important input regarding the diamond and jewelry trade from their perspective.”
