Fitbit Expands Its Metal Jewelry Offerings

The world’s top wearables brand is looking to lure the fashion consumer

Fitbit, the smart tech company IDC called “the undisputed worldwide leader of wearable devices” earlier this year (it beat out the Apple Watch in sales in 2015), debuted the affordable Fitbit Flex 2 activity tracker this month.

And among the options for wearing the tiny, rectangular device, which is made to slip in and out of different bracelets and necklaces, are two very chic metal jewelry accessories: a lariat-style necklace (see above on the far left) and a shapely bangle with a perforated barrel (see directly above, right).

Starting with last year’s collaboration on a cool watch/bracelet with edgy fashion brand Public School for its Fitbit Alta (pictured above), the company has been increasingly rounding out its sporty offerings with pieces and accessories that look more like traditional jewelry.

Having captured the sport consumer, the brand now has the freedom to experiment with pieces made to appeal to the fashion shopper.

Also new and fashion-y for the Alta device is a $129.95 chunky high-shine gold bangle bracelet (pictured above) currently available for preorder and a second Public School collaboration: an all-black bracelet featured woven paracord (see below).
