Michael Kors Releases Its First Smartwatch

Two models of the Access are available and have a host of options

Michael Kors, the brand that launched a thousand tote bags, may soon be a major player in the wearables market, too.

Last week, Fossil Group, which holds the license for Micheal Kors wearable devices, released the brand’s first-ever smartwatch, the Michael Kors Access. The Access release includes two straightforward smartwatch models—the Bradshaw and the Dylan—with identical technology.

Both watches, which are powered by Android Wear (but also work with iPhones), feature customizable display faces, wireless charging, built-in fitness tracking through the Google Fit app, and the ability to send and receive notifications from your wrist.

There’s also a microphone in both models, so wearers can also use voice activation to search the internet, give apps instruction, or initiate phone calls.

The Bradshaw (pictured above) is the flashier of the two models and comes in six different stainless steel tones, including blue and rose gold. There are a host of interchangeable straps, too, including colorful silicone and leather options.

The Dylan, pictured below, is clearly targeting a sports-going male audience. It’s wide rubber band comes in black and blue, and there’s also a black leather band that’s sold separately.

So far, it looks like the watches are being sold at major retailers, including Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy’s for between $350 and $395, and directly from the Michael Kors website
