Longtime Watch Executive Stuart Zuckerman Dies



He was a former top executive at Seiko and Citizen

On May 21, Stuart Zuckerman, a former top executive with Seiko and Citizen, died of frontotemporal degeneration in Atlantic Highlands, N.J. He was 67.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Zuckerman joined Seiko Time Corp. in 1974 in operations management. In 1976 he was promoted to the merchandising department. During his time there, he was part of the management team that made Seiko a top-selling brand in the United States.

In 1988, he joined Citizen Watch Company of America as vice president of merchandising and later became senior vice president of merchandising and special events marketing. He again helped establish that brand as the leader in the market.

Zuckerman was an active volunteer, including working with children’s nonprofit CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), which he was introduced to through industry charity Jewelers for Children.

He is survived by daughter Jennifer Moran and son Eric Zuckerman, who continues the family’s involvement with the timepiece industry as president of Pac Team.
