Douglas Escribano, Amy Chow, and Alex Ghotbi all join the auction house

Auction house Phillips is expanding its team of watch specialists in New York City, Geneva, and Hong Kong.

Among the new appointments:

– Douglas Escribano, who spent more than 10 years at Christie’s watch department, has moved to Phillips as senior international specialist in New York City.

– Amy Chow, a former senior watch specialist with Sotheby’s Hong Kong, has joined as senior specialist at Phillips Hong Kong.

– Alex Ghotbi, former community and social media manager at watch brand Vacheron Constantin, where he founded the Vacheron Constantin Collector’s Club, is now specialist and associate director for Phillips in Geneva.

In addition, Tiffany To joined the Hong Kong watches team as an associate specialist in Hong Kong. A recent graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, she held internships at Christie’s and Sotheby’s.

The auction house established its watch department in November 2014 and soon after recruited Sam Hines as international head of watches. It held its inaugural watch auctions in Geneva and Hong Kong last year.
