Hoover & Strong, the refiner and manufacturer of precious metal jewelry based in Richmond, Va., has hired a new national sales representative and a new diamond manager.

Dick Kile has been named national sales representative. He has 30 years of experience in the jewelry industry, including positions with AB Precious Metals, LeachGarner/General Findings, and Keystone Findings. He will be based in Los Angeles.

Brian Shaffer has been named diamond manager. He is a graduate gemologist, certified diamondologist, and is also certified in colored stones. He comes to Hoover & Strong from Diamonds Direct Jewelry Store in Richmond, where he was operations manager. He has been in the industry for 15 years and has held positions at Markmans Diamonds, Kingoff’s Jewelers, and Whitehall Jewelers.
