Mr. 300 Sandwiches, Former State Department Official Speak About Diamond Sourcing

The man behind the 300 Sandwiches site and a former official with the U.S. State Department are among the panelists at a Jewelers of America show session on responsible sourcing, sponsored by the Diamond Development Initiative.

The panel will held Sunday, July 27, from 11:35 a.m. to 12:35 p.m., at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, at the end of rows 2000 and 2100.

Eric Schulte, whose tale of having his fiancée agree to make him 300 sandwiches in exchange for an engagement ring went viral, will speak on the panel about ethical issues from a consumer perspective. He talked about his search for an ethical diamond to JCK here.

Other panelists include: Former State Department official Brad Brooks-Rubin, now global director of development and beneficiation at the Gemological Institute of America; Signet vice president of corporate affairs David Bouffard; Ronnie VanderLinden, president of the Diamond Manufacturers and Importers Association; Clarity Project founder Rachel Lichte; and Ngomesia Mayer-Kechom, DDI International project director.
