What’s Selling in Stores: Gemstones

We asked retailers across the country to share their best-selling gemstone jewelry this week:

Haydon and Co., Raleigh, N.C. Private label full-circle diamond band, price on request. “It’s a diamond ring that people notice all the time,” says office manager Dorothy Woodworth. “People think it’s just so pretty.”

Deister & Butler Quality Jewelers, Elmira, N.Y. Cordova by Ron Rosen 14k white gold diamond engagement ring, $1,252. “Cordova rings always sell very well,” says store clerk Bruce Williams.

Wayne Jewelers, Wayne, Pa. Private label 14k white gold ring with 0.22 ct. t.w. sapphires and 0.21 ct. t.w. diamonds, $1,325. “Sapphire is the number one seller,” says director of sales and e-commerce Suzanne Smith. “People in our area just like the navy blue.”

Gem Collection, Tallahassee, Fla. 6.76 ct. t.w. chrysoberyl, mounted in a custom 14k white gold ring with diamonds, $8,980 (gem only). “The stone is a really pretty lime green that also picks up some of the warmer colors, like yellows and oranges,” says store inventory specialist Aurora Freeland.
