Bloomingdale’s CEO to Retire

Bloomingdale’s longtime CEO Michael Gould is retiring, and will be succeeded by current president and chief operating officer Tony Spring.

Spring takes over on Feb. 1, 2014. His successor will be named next year.

Gould has been CEO of Bloomingdale’s since 1991. Previously, he was president and CEO of Giorgio Beverly Hills.  

Spring began his Bloomingdale’s career in 1987 as an executive trainee in the White Plains, N.Y., store. He was promoted to president and COO in 2008.

Bloomingdale’s is currently owned by Macy’s Inc. It includes 37 Bloomingdale’s stores, 13 outlet locations, and a website.
