Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry Invites Music Students to 2013 Grammy Camp

Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry puts its money where its mouth is when it comes to arts education. That’s why as part of its three-year partnership with The Recording Academy, the Italian brand is inviting music students from China, Japan, and the United Kingdom to attend 2013 Grammy Camp in Los Angeles (July 13–22) and New York City (Aug. 11–14).

Students are from Gucci-sponsored Music Funds, which operate in conjunction with leading musical institutions in home countries—all with the mission to support young talents by providing scholarships and development opportunities within the framework of an international music exchange program.

This year, students come from the London-based World Heart Beat Music Academy, Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo, and the Xi’an Conservatory of Music, under the aegis of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (C.S.C.L.F.).

Campers will meet with music industry professionals, attend classes, write new music, visit recording studios, and participate in various workshops. Activities for students at the L.A. camp will culminate in a special interactive concert at the El Rey Theatre featuring live performances of songs written during Grammy Camp and camper-created multimedia presentations before a host of music industry advisors. Participants in the New York City camp will conclude their experience with a concert at the Asia Society, performing the C.S.C.L.F.–Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry Music Fund Quintet alongside Grammy camp alumni.
