Former WJA New England President Lorraine Garvey Dies

Lorraine Garvey, an executive with Fredrich Stahl Design USA and
Thomas Sabo, died March 3 at age 63 of cancer at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital
in Boston.

Garvey was also active in the Woman’s Jewelry Association,
and was president of the group’s New England chapter from 1999 to 2005.

“She took an inactive chapter, and made it into an active
chapter,” says Karen Golembeski of Elite Imports, who succeeded her as
president. “She was always available to WJA members, friends of WJA, everyone in the industry. She was
just an amazing person.”

WJA past president Phyllis Bergman recalls Garvey “really
loved WJA, and did a lot to establish that chapter in that region. She was very
active in the industry and cared a lot about it.”
