The Vicenza fair and CIBJO are developing a joint program to promote corporate social responsibility in the international jewelry industry.

The development of a CSR program involving CIBJO will become a critical component of the fair’s longterm development strategy.

The five-year plan, which is scheduled for completion in 2015, is designed to consolidate Fiera di Vicenza's role as not only a key player in jewelry exhibition, but also as a venue for disseminating ideas and information.

"Corporate social responsibility will be an integral part of the jewelry business in the markets of the future," said Dr. Roberto Ditri, president of Fiera di Vicenza, in a statement. "Younger consumers are motivated not only by fashion sense, craftsmanship and design excellence, but also by purchases that are personally meaningful.”
