AWI Installs New Board Members

The American Watchmaker-Clockmakers Institute (AWI) elected new members to its board of directors during its 43rd annual meeting, held this year in Florence, Ky. The members include James K. Zimmerman, York, Pa.; James R. Sadilek, Carson City, Nev.; and Glenn D. Gardner, Madison, Wis. Gardner also will serve as affiliate chapter director for one year.

AWI, founded in 1982 as the American Horological Society, is headquartered in Harrison, Ohio, and has more than 4,000 members dedicated to “setting the standard of excellence in both the instruction and practice of quality horological repair and restoration work worldwide.” It offers certification for its members and a library and museum run by the Education Library and Museum Trust, which also provides financial assistance to qualified students attending recognized schools of horology.
