New York City designer Frederica recently joined Behnam Jewelry Corp. Their first joint project will be a line of classic Frederica designs in 18k gold as well as sterling silver with 18k gold details, set with diamonds and colored gemstones. Her most popular designs reflect the art and architectural elements of ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt, as well as the Renaissance, Victorian, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco periods.

Frederica studied industrial design at the Pratt Institute in New York and began making jewelry in 1969. She lived and worked in Sydney, Australia; São Paulo, Brazil; and Los Angeles before settling in New York in 1975. While Frederica's early collections were highly sculptural, her later designs evolved to a classical look exclusively in 18k gold.

Behnam manufactures a diverse collection of jewelry, including gem-set silver and gold combinations, champagne diamond pieces, tanzanite jewelry, white gold and diamond initial jewelry, patriotic pieces, and gold gem-set and enamel baby-shoe pendants known as Little Feet.
