Stella & Dot Has Doubled Sales in Three Years

Stella & Dot, the home sales jewelry and accessories company, has doubled its sales in the past three years, according to founder and CEO Jessica Herrin’s interview with USA Today.

“It will ring in over $200 million in sales this year, up from $100 million just three years ago,” the newspaper reported. “And Herrin predicts she’ll hit $1 billion in yearly sales before the decade is over.”

The company now has 16,000 stylists selling Stella & Dot products.

The newspaper notes that Herrin, who also founded the Wedding Channel (since acquired by The Knot), started the company in 2006, hoping to emulate others like Creative Memories, which sells scrapbooks, and Pampered Chef, which sells cooking supplies.

Herrin told the newspaper that she always felt that, despite the growing popularity of online sales, many women still like to gather.

“Because jewelry is generally housed under lock and key in retail stores, Herrin bet correctly that having items spread out on tables and available to try on and sample would have great appeal,” the newspaper stated.
